Cricket Rules
1. Teams

Max 8 players (seniors) / 6 players (juniors)

Minimum 5 players required to play

Each team must have a captain

All players must be able to bat and bowl (except substitutes)
2. Match Format
-
1 innings per team (bat & bowl once)

Seniors: 16 overs
-
Juniors: 12 overs
-
6 balls per over
Batting
-
Bat in pairs for 4 overs each
-
No traditional outs — each dismissal = -5 runs
-
Players swap ends every over
-
Each player bats once only
Bowling
-
Each player bowls 2 overs
-
Overs cannot be bowled consecutively
Game Start
-
Captains meet for a coin toss
-
Teams must be ready 2 minutes before start time
3. Equipment & Uniform
-
Team uniforms encouraged
-
Non-marking sports shoes required
-
Batters must wear gloves on both hands
-
Wicketkeeper gloves provided
-
Protective gear optional for fielders
-
Equipment stays off court until needed
EPIC provides:

Ball, stumps, and base
⚠️ Ball tampering = -10 runs
4. Umpires

Umpires control the game and apply rules fairly

All decisions are final
-
Only the captain or batter may question a decision

Arguing may result in penalties
5. Short Players / Substitutes
1 Player Short
Batting: After 12 overs (8 juniors), opposition selects 1 player to bat again
Fielding: After 14 overs (10 juniors), batting team selects 2 players to bowl remaining overs
2 Players Short
Batting: After 12 overs, opposition selects 2 players to bat again
Fielding: After 12 overs (8 juniors), batting team selects 2 players to bowl remaining overs
⚠️ If a selected player cannot bat again → -10 run penalty
Forfeit Rule

Less than 5 players (seniors) or 4 (juniors) = forfeit
6. Injuries
Batting Injury: Opposition selects a teammate to replace injured player
Bowling Injury: Batting team selects a teammate to finish the over
