Indoor Netball Rules
1. The Game

Seniors: 6-a-side or 7-a-side

Juniors: 7-a-side
-
Standard netball rules apply (contact, obstruction, stepping, held ball)
Key Rules
-
GS & GK must start in the goal circle for centre passes
-
Centre pass must be touched before scoring (or free pass awarded)
-
Centre must step onto the middle line promptly (delaying = penalty)
-
No contact with the net (light brushing allowed only)
2. Game Timing
-
4 x 10 minute quarters
-
Teams change ends at half time
-
1 minute break between quarters
3. Substitutions
Only allowed at half time or during injury stoppages
4. Positions & Court Areas
Movement Rules
-
Centre: Whole court (except goal circles)
-
GS & GK: Goal third to halfway
-
GA: Whole court except opposing goal circle
-
GD: Whole court except own goal circle
5. Mixed Competitions
-
Minimum 2/maximum 3 males on court
-
Males cannot play both: GA & GS together / GD & GK together
6. Net Rules
-
No stepping, jumping, or pushing into nets
-
Ball remains live off the net
-
No “replay” (cannot regather your own ball unless touched/hits ring)
-
No using the net for balance or to restrict players
7. Finals
-
Top 4 teams play the Semi Fianls (1v4, 2v3)
-
Winners progress to Grand Final, losing teams play a 3rd place playoff
-
We aim to get every team a game on semi finals night so there will also be 5v6, 7v8, 9v10 friendlies
Eligibility
-
Must play minimum 3 games
-
Must be registered and paid
Extra Time
-
Semi Finals: 2 mins each way → highest ranked team wins if still tied

Grand Final: 2 mins each way → first to 2-goal lead wins
8. Points System
-
Win = 3 points
-
Draw = 2 points
-
Loss = 1 point
-
Forfeit = 0 points
-
Bye or forfeit win = 3 points (3–0 scoreline)
9. Registration & Fees
-
All players must be registered and insured
-
1-game grace period allowed (not valid during finals)
Breaches = forfeit
10. Conduct & Suspensions
EPIC reserves the right to remove or ban any player or team for misconduct. Please refer to our Code of Conduct for full details.
